Laurent "Larry" W. Lamy, 87, of Manchester, died January 8, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua. He was born in Manchester on January 22, 1921, the son of Ovila and Marie (Gariepy) Lamy and had been a lifelong resident of the city. He was a World War II veteran with with 8th Army Air Force and flew combat missions over Germany. He had worked at Bee Bee Shoe and Arms Textile mill after the war. He also worked for the United States Postal Service for 32 years in maintenance. Family members include his wife of 61 years, Marie (Morin) Lamy; two sons, Paul Lamy of Candia and Thomas Lamy of Manchester; three daughters, Cecile Uhry of Manchester, Rachel Uryga of Laporte, IN and Rita Lamy of Manchester; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers, four sisters and many nephews, nieces and cousins. A memorial gathering will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Monday from 3 to 4 PM followed by a memorial service in the funeral home chapel at 4:00 PM.
