Laurette (Champagne) Bourzikas, 96, of Manchester, NH, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2022 with her daughter Jane by her side. Born on January 16, 1926 to the late Albert & Jane (Beaudin) Champagne, she would go on to marry Alexander Bourzikas, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage.
Born and raised on Manchester’s West Side, Laurette had deep-rooted connections to the community in which she had many friends, family, and relationships. She attended local schools on the West Side and would go on to work at Fleischer Shoe Shop in Manchester for over 25 years providing an essential service as a sizer for a niche market of small shoed individuals in the community. Despite her many years at Fleischer, nothing was more important to Laurette than family, as being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother was paramount to all else.
Those who know Laurette will remember a warm, loving, and welcoming woman who always had room in her heart for more. They will recall her love for gardening and tending to her flowers, crafting and crocheting gifts and trinkets for her family and loved ones, and simply being with her family. She had a quiet yet profound relationship with God, and is assuredly with Him now. Above all else, Laurette loved her family immensely, and will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
Laurette has joined her husband Alexander; father Albert Champagne; mother Jane Beaudin; sister Helen (Jan) Demers and brother Alfred Champagne in heaven. She is survived by her daughter Jane LaPerle and her husband Richard; daughter Marie Gagnon and her husband Donald; grandchildren Janet, Tracey, Scott & Melissa; great-grandchildren Beth, Kaleigh, Lucas, Maxwell, Chloe & Alexander; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
