Laurette R. (Pepin) Hudon, 102, of Goffstown, passed away at Catholic Medical Center on February 21, 2018.
She was born in Manchester on June 12, 1915, the daughter of Lucien and Ernestine (Pelletier) Pepin, and lived a quiet childhood on the "west side". She met her late husband, Amadee at 16 and got married at 17 and they established their life together working in the mill shoe factories. She and her family moved to a farm in Manchester where she took on farm work, vegetable canning, and making root beer, in addition to her work in the mills. She and her husband sold the farm in 1978 and moved to Merrimack and later moved to Florida, still spending summers in NH. In 2017, Laurette was the Boston Post Cane Recipient of the town of Goffstown, which the town bestows on its oldest resident.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1990, by two sons, Gerard Hudon and Robert Hudon and by two daughters, Connie Hudon and Jeannette Mailhot.
Family members include a daughter, Annette Bowsher of Lee; 17 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester on Sunday from 5 to 7 PM with a memorial service and candlelight ceremony to follow in the funeral home chapel at 7 PM.
