Laurier ''Larry'' Lesperance, 87, formerly of 1035 Somerville Street, died November 16, 2002 at Harborside Healthcare in Bedford. He was born in Manchester on August 19, 1915 and had been a lifelong resident of the City. He was a shoeworker for many years. After his retirement, he was a volunteer for the Foster Grandparents Program at local schools throughout the Manchester area. He was an accomplished musician and taught the piano and conducted many recitals. He also had his own orchestra called the Blue Knights and performed at many wedding, clubs and private functions. He held the record of being the youngest piano teacher at the age of sixteen. He was the widower of Laurette (Gregoire) Lesperance who died in 1999. Family members include two daughters, Claudette Lafortune of Pelham and Patricia Benedict of Belview, FL; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. After cremation a committal service will take place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Chapel on Tuesday at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice in his memory.
