LAWRENCE FROG ELMER CORLISS
LITTLETON, NH Lawrence Frog Elmer Corliss, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at the Littleton Regional Hospital.
Lawrence was born on February 27, 1930, a son to Alfred E. Corliss and Viola (Washburn) Corliss Nelson, in Bethlehem, NH.
Lawrence served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict as a Corporal in the Armored Tank Division. Upon Discharge from the Marine Corps, he returned to Littleton and began his own carpentry business which was his life-long love. The Corliss Cottage at Copper Cannon was built and donated to Copper Cannon by Lawrence and his brother, George. He enjoyed building doll houses, cooking, planting flowers, feeding birds, and visiting with everyone in the neighborhood. Lawrence was a member of the V.F.W. Howard Shawney Post #816. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving family members include his wife, Marion (Tillotson) Corliss of Littleton, NH; a son, Mark and his wife, Lauren Corliss and grandson, Caleb Corliss, all of Marion, MA; five brothers, Alvin Corliss of Littleton, NH, Roland Corliss of Summerville, SC, George Corliss of Raymond, NH, Fred Corliss of MA, and Alfred Corliss of Lake Worth, FL; three sisters, Rena Wilkins of Kearney, NJ, Vera Gawel of Ruffin, SC, and Myrtle Ledoux of Bethlehem, NH. His parents and four brothers predeceased him.
SERVICES Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 23rd at 11:00 a.m. in the Maple Street Cemetery in Bethlehem, NH, with Military Honors presented by the V.F.W. Howard Shawney Post #816 and the New Hampshire Military Honor Guard. A gathering will follow at the Littleton V.F.W. function room.
