Lawrence J. Martel

Mr. Lawrence “Larry” Joseph Martel, 51, of Manchester, NH died December 3, 2007 in Manchester. He was born on December 10, 1955 in Providence, RI the son of Yvonne Rose (Gauthier) Martel of Bourne and the late Joseph Gilbert Noel Martel. He was a resident of the Manchester area for the past 10 years. Previously he had lived in Brockton, MA. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Bridgewater State College. Larry was a chemist for the last 20 years most recently he worked at Cubist Pharmaceuticals in Lexington, MA, where he worked as a Research Scientist. He enjoyed the great outdoors and fishing. He was accomplished in the art of karate. Most importantly he was a loving and caring father, son, brother and uncle. Besides his mother, he is survived by his son Nicholas Martel of DeFuniak Springs, FL; two brothers, Donald Martel of Bourne, MA and Peter Martel of Norton, MA, nieces, nephews and many aunts, uncles and cousins. His Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, Manchester on Sunday from 1 to 4 PM with his Funeral Service at 4:00PM in the Funeral Home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
