Lee E. Merrill, 68 of Brattleboro passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Genesis Lebanon Center in Lebanon, NH. He was born in Brattleboro, VT on March 15 1949; the son of the late Henry E. and Marjorie Bandlow Merrill.
Lee was a lifelong Brattleboro resident. He was educated in the Brattleboro school system, graduating from Brattleboro High School, Class of 1967. He then went on to earn his bachelor's degree from New York University in 1971. He owned and operated Barrows & Fisher Oil for many years. He enjoyed playing tennis, dabbling in the stock market, listening to music and was an avid reader.
He is predeceased by a sister, Ann "Pat" Merrill in 1997.
He is survived by two sisters, Betsey M. Adams and her husband John of Hartland, VT and Caren M. Jacques of Indian Orchard, MA; two nephews, Christopher Adams of North Pomfret, VT and David Adams, his wife Lori-Ann & family of Littleton, NH.
An hour of Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at KER-WESTERLUND FUNERAL HOME, 57 High St., Brattleboro, VT. A Service will be held at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Morningside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Genesis Lebanon Center Activities Department, 24 Old Etna Rd., Lebanon, NH 03766.
