Lena M. Viens

Lena M. (Laschakowsky) Viens, 95, of Manchester, died January 26, 2010 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home with her family by her side. She was born in Manchester on June 1, 1914, the daughter of Edward and Flora (Hueber) Laschakowsky. In 1936 she married Ernest W. Viens. She had been a parishioner of St. Patrick Church for many years. Before her retirement, she was employed for 23 years by the Sheraton Wayfarer in Bedford. She was predeceased by two daughters, Yvonne Viens and Rita Blanchette and by her husband in 2000. Family members include her son, Ernest W. Viens, Jr., of Manchester; four daughters, Elaine M. Bond of Weare, Claire A. Proulx of Manchester, Kathleen Willey of Vashon Island, WA and Diane Laverture of Concord; 19 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours are private. Burial will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to the Hillsborough County Nursing Home, Patient Fund, 400 Mast Road, Goffstown, NH 03045. Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium is in charge of arrangements.
