Leo O. Belec, Jr., 59, of Hooksett, died suddenly at his residence on September 11, 2002. He was born in Manchester on January 4, 1943, the son of the late Leo O. and Loretta (Beauregard) Belec, Sr., and resided in Manchester before moving to Hooksett two years ago. Leo worked for the Manchester Transit Authority for 25 years and belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagle # 290. He held memberships with the Manchester Winona Social Club for 17 years and the Deerhead Sport Club in Hooksett. Mr. Belec was a devoted husband and father and was friends to many. Family members include his wife of 2 years, Eileen (Doherty) Belec of Hooksett, a daughter Cathy Cellura of New Port Richey, Florida, two step sons, Michael Covey and Kevin McLinch, both of Manchester, seven grandchildren, three sisters, Phyllis Borus of Hamden, Connecticut, Janet Mathews of Bedford, NH and Doris Austin of Hooksett, NH, several nieces, nephews and cousins. SERVICES: Relatives and friends are welcomed to calling hours for Mr. Belec at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, corner of Union, on Friday evening from 5 to 8 o'clock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Augustin Church. Burial will follow in St. Augustin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to one's favorite charity.
