LEO R. CHAMPAGNE, SR. Manchester – Leo R. Champagne, Sr., 69, died Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Catholic Medical Center, in Manchester, following a short illness. He was surrounded by his family. Mr. Champagne was born on August 2, 1940, the son of the late Alfred and Irene (Breton) Champagne. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester. Prior to retirement, Mr. Champagne was employed as a cab driver for Queen City Cab, in Manchester. His favorite pastime was fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Members of his family include; two daughters, Tammy Champagne, of Barnstead, NH; Jane Champagne, of Gilmanton, NH; one son, Leo R. Champagne, Jr., of California; 6 grandchildren; two brothers, Roland Champagne, of Spring Hill, FL; Robert Champagne, of Manchester; three sisters, Priscilla Loiselle, of Hooksett, NH; Pauline Hughes, of Manchester; Irene Sponkolty, of Winter Parks, FL; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Champagne was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Patricia E. (Kenney) Champagne. IN HIS LIFE: Mr. Champagne was predeceased by his brother, Roger Champagne. SERVICES: A memorial gathering will be Friday, April 30, 2010, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, corner of Union Street, in Manchester. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 PM.
