Leo R. Paradis died peacefully Tuesday May 9th, 2023, in Boscawen, NH at the age of 82.
Leo was predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years, Jeanne C. Paradis in 2021. He was born on September 15, 1940, to the late Leo Paradis and Stefanie Nowak Paradis in Lowell, MA and had one sister, the late Marianne Morton. He was also predeceased by his son-in-law, Michael Robinson.
Leo earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University and immediately began his 40 year career with Raytheon in Dracut, MA. He enjoyed his work there, was proud of the job he did, and made lifelong friends there including his dear friend, Karen Alibrandi.
He loved traveling and planning trips for the whole family. From Walt Disney, to Las Vegas, to the Pats game, he arranged it all and made sure everyone had fun. Leo was always very generous with family, friends and strangers. He was a generous donor to area SPCA, youth groups, and other local animal charities. He loved all things sports, the Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots, Auto Racing, Golf, and the Boston Marathon.
When he retired, Leo and Jeanne moved from Chelmsford, MA to Canterbury, NH and made it their home for the next 20 years. He was able to immerse himself in his favorite things and had a huge garden, a golf course nearby, and enjoyed nature strolling on his property daily. He enjoyed traveling to casinos both locally and out of state. But, Leo was never happier than he was at home, tinkering on a project that needed some small repair with his cat at his feet and Jeanne nearby.
Leo leaves behind his son Richard Paradis; his daughter Suzanne Paradis and her two sons, Ian and Hugh Robinson; and his daughter Leslie Paradis. He also leaves behind his loving stepdaughter, Laurie Shepard, and his stepson Joseph Baldelli and his wife Sylvie.
Friends and family are invited to attend the cemetery committal where Leo will be laid to rest alongside his wife at 2:00pm Monday, May 15, 2023, at Maple Grove Cemetery on Baptist Road in Canterbury. Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium is assisting the family with arrangements. To view an online memorial, leave a message of condolence, or for more information please visit https://phaneuf.net/.
