LEON WALLACE FOSTER

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Leon Wallace Foster passed away on Monday July 31, 2017 at home in North Myrtle Beach S.C.

He was born on February 25, 1934 in Littleton, N.H to Wallace and Vera (Reid) Foster.

Leon excelled in baseball and football while attending Littleton High School. In 1954 he enlisted in the Navy and served on board the USS Intrepid. While on leave in Littleton he met the love of his life, Lorraine Belmore. They were married on January 11, 1958 and lived in Connecticut, Indiana, Illinois and Colorado before finally settling down in Manchester, NH. Leon had a love of the outdoors and enjoyed spending time camping, fishing and hunting with his family and friends. He retired from Allstate after 22 years and he and Lorraine spent time travelling to Florida for many years before settling in North Myrtle Beach.

Leon is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Lorraine (Belmore) Foster of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; his daughter and son-in-law Sean and Shelly Carter of Lillington, N.C.; his sons and daughters-in-law Tracy and Sharon Foster of Carroll, N.H., and Mitchell and Jodi Foster of Portsmouth, N.H.; his grandchildren Erin, Kyle, Chelsea, Noah and Emerson; his great grandchildren Grayson and Amelia; his sisters Fern and Lois.

Leon will be laid to rest at St. Matthews' Cemetery in Whitefield, NH on August 24th.
