Leon H. Green

Leon Harvey Green, 71, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2023. Leon was born on December 9, 1951 in Manchester, NH. He is a proud Veteran of the US Army.

Leon met his devoted wife, Grace, when they were neighborhood friends in Manchester. They have since shared over 30 years of marriage and together they built a beautiful life filled with family love, laughter, and endless memories.

Leon, or Bubba, as everyone lovingly called him, enjoyed deep-sea fishing on family vacations at Hampton Beach or fishing on the lake in Maine with friends. He cherished the moments spent with his loved ones and especially enjoyed throwing family BBQs in the summer. Although Leon was born and raised in New England, he was a Dallas Cowboys fan through and through. His love for a team other than the Patriots made for very exciting football Sundays.

Leon would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His witty sense of humor and dedication to friends and family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Leon is survived by his loving wife Grace (Preston) Green, children: Leon Green, Brian Green, and Coy Martin all of Florida, Brandie Elliott of Weare, Richard Gobis, Kim Gobis, and Tina Gobis all of Manchester; many grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his son Scott Gobis.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 28^th at 11:00am in the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery in Boscawen. Leon’s celebration of life will be held later that day from 5-8pm at The American Legion, Jutras Post #43, 56 Boutwell Street, Manchester. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend both events.
