Leon J. Martel, 73 of Manchester Died May 27, 2005 at the Concord Hospice House, following a long illness. He was raised and educated in Suncook. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He had worked for over 22 years at Lockheed Sanders in Nashua. He had a strong faith in God, and served him well during his lifetime. He enjoyed spending time with his family and spending time in the White Mtns. Reading his bible. In his younger years, he enjoyed bow hunting and swimming. He is survived by; His wife of 52 years, Lucille C. (Provencher) of Manchester. 2 Sons; Kenneth G. and his wife Patricia, and Kevin G. both of Manchester. 4 Daugters; Deborah L. Martel, Stephanie A. Russett and her husband Harvey, Jamie C. Favreau and her husband Mark, all of Manchester. Leslie B. Johnson and her husband Lewis A. of Deerfield. 2 Sisters; Pauline L’Heureux of Glenncliff, and Lorraine Plante of Lynn, MA. 1 Brother; Andre Martel of Concord. 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive him. Memorial Contributions may be made in Leon’s name to: VNA & Hospice House P.O. Box 1797 Concord, NH 03302 Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service Sunday June 5, 2005 at 1:00PM at Grace Free Presbyterian Church in Litchfield. A private burial will take place next week, at the New Hampshire State Veteran’s Cemetery in Boscawen.
