LEON R. TREMBLAY GOFFSTOWN – Leon R. Tremblay, 86, died Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at Hillsborough County Nursing Home, in Goffstown. He was born on February 16, 1923, in Manchester, NH, the son of Rene and Amanda (Paquette) Tremblay. Mr. Tremblay was a lifelong resident of Manchester. Mr. Tremblay was a security guard at Sanders Associates, for most of his career, retiring in 1986. He was a communicant of The Parish of the Transfiguration Church, in Manchester. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served in France and Germany during World War II. Mr. Tremblay was an avid sports fan, who passionately followed the Celtics, and was president and coach of West Little League in his earlier years. Family members include; his wife, Pauline (Collins) Tremblay, his daughter Janet Holzman and son-in-law Steven, of Mont Vernon, NH; his son, Norman Tremblay, of Deerfield, NH; 1 grandson, Brian LeBlanc and his wife Becky, of New Boston, NH; and 3 great grandchildren, Colby Gardner, Angelina and Anthony LeBlanc. Mr. Tremblay was predeceased by his grandson, Gary LeBlanc. SERVICES: Calling hours will be Sunday, December 27 from 4 – 7 PM at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, corner of Union Street, in Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, 10 AM at The Parish of the Transfiguration Church, 107 Alsace Street, in Manchester.
