Leona A. (Corriveau) Roy, 88, of Goffstown, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Manchester, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eva (Bilodeau) Corriveau. Raised and educated in Manchester, she met and married the love of her life, the late Jean Paul Andre "Pete" Roy. The young couple settled in Goffstown to raise their beautiful family.
A dedicated wife, mother, memere and friend, Leona's family was paramount in her life. She took great pride in caring for her family. A talented seamstress, Leona crocheted and sewed clothing for her children during their youth. In her spare time, Leona enjoyed completing crossword puzzles and word searches. She found great comfort and solace in the sights and sounds of the ocean. Leona will be best remembered for her generous heart and love of family.
Leona is survived by her son, Marc Roy and wife Joanne of Goffstown; two daughters, Pauline Wylie and husband Kenneth of Westford, MA, and Suzanne Roy of Manchester; three grandchildren, Samantha Wylie, Erin Wylie, and Christopher Roy; sister, Doris Corriveau of Manchester; brother, Maurice Corriveau of Manchester; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her Memorial Gathering will be held in the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Ave., on Saturday, October 14, from 10:00 to 11:00A.M. followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00A.M. Friends and relatives invited. Leona will be laid to rest beside her husband, Pete, at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Leona's memory to the American Cancer Society, 2 Commerce Dr., #110, Bedford, NH 03110.
