LESTER E. GOAD
LITTLETON, NH Lester E. Goad, 88, of Washington Street, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2005 at the Littleton Regional Hospital.
A native of Littleton, Lester was born a son to Harold and Bessie (Elliott) Goad on December 25, 1916. He was a 1934 graduate of Littleton High School.
Lester married Phyllis (Hastings) Goad on February 19, 1944. During World War II he served in the U. S. Army doing active duty in the European Theater for four years. Upon returning home after the war, Lester was employed by the Littleton Post Office as a Mail Carrier and retired 35 years later as Postmaster.
Lester was President of the Littleton Rotary Club and a long time member of the Masons. He was also President of the Retired Federal Employees Chapter 1776 for 14 years, as well as Vice-President of the N.R.F.E. for two years. Lester was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 40 y ears and served on various committees.
Surviving family members include one brother, Kenneth H. Goad of Luray, VA, two sisters, Lois Goad Polson of Madbury, NH and Hillis Goad Polson of Littleton, NH; and many nieces and nephews. His parents, one brother, Harry William Goad, and his wife, Phyllis Goad predeceased him.
SERVICES Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Stephen E. Bascom, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery.
