LETTIE MERRILL
EUGENE, OREGON -- Lettie Merrill, formerly of Lisbon, New Hampshire passed away on November 7, 2006, of age-related causes at age 89.
She was born on September 16, 1917, in Lyman, New Hampshire, a daughter to Harvey and Myrtle (Lyndes) Chase. Lettie was one of seven children. She married Clyde Merrill in 1951, who predeceased her in 1975.
Lettie lived in Lisbon, New Hampshire for many years, and worked at the Lisbon Company and later the Sweet Brush Handle Factory in Littleton, New Hampshire. After moving to Eugene, Oregon in 1976, she was a house cook at a sorority and fraternity on the University of Oregon campus. She had a special place in her heart for children, and prior to her retirement she deeply enjoyed the years she spent providing loving childcare.
Survivors include three sons, Donald Rollins of Worland, Wyoming, Eugene Rollins of Pacifica, California, and Dale Rollins of Hayden, Idaho; one daughter, Beverly Fletcher of Eugene, Oregon; one brother, Robert Chase of San Diego, California; one step-son, Norman Merrill of Florence, Arizona; twelve grandchildren, one step-grandchild, twenty-four great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Two sons, Alvin and infant Robert preceded her in death.
SERVICES A Memorial Service will be held in the Spring of 2007 in Lisbon New Hampshire. Burial will be at the Grove Hill Cemetery.
