Lewis Monroe Icenogle, 83, of Concord, NH passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 4, 2017.
Lewis was born in Cuba, Il November 12, 1933 to William Icenogle and Velma (Miller) Pearson and proudly served his country with the US Navy, stationed aboard the USS Tarawa CVA40 during the Korean War.
Known lovingly by friends and family as the "Original Dirty Old Man", Lewis possessed an unparalleled generosity and a deep devotion to his family. He was a skilled cabinet maker and a national championship winning dart and chess master. He was also a member of Club Mont Royal and several VFWs, where he made many lasting friendships.
Lewis is survived by his seven children, Albert Icenogle of Manchester, NH, Velma Mayo of Casselberry, FL, William Icenogle of Sanford, FL, Betty Stewart-Dugan of Concord, NH, Louise Wilkerson of Orlando, FL, Lewis Icenogle, Jr. of Shepardsville, KY, and Frank Icenogle of Casselberry, FL; and many, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Monday, March 13th, 4:00-8:00pm at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 172 King Street in Boscawen, NH. Lewis will be laid to rest with full military honors at 2:00pm Tuesday, March 14th at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery.
