Lewis H. Mooney, 84, formerly of Manchester, died at Villa Crest Nursing Home on February 7, 2005. He was born in Manchester on December 26, 1920, the son of Henry and Onilda (Daigle) Money and had lived in the city for many years before moving to Hampton in 1982. He was a World War II Navy Veteran. For 20 years he worked in the advertising department for the Manchester Union Leader. He was a 13 year member and past chairman of the Manchester ZBA. He had also been a member for many years of the Joliette Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and also being at the beach. Family members include his wife of 53 years, Leatrice (Marion) Mooney; a son, Lewis R. Mooney of Manchester; three daughters, Cynthia L. Gaffney, Jacqueline A. Papajohn and Nancy A. Sinotte all of Manchester; six grandchildren and one great grandson; a brother, Herman Mooney of Manchester; two sisters, Lorraine Sullivan and Theresa Bell both of Manchester; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 PM. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 7 PM.
