Lillian C. (Christopherson) Pendlebury, 83, of Manchester, NH, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Mount Carmel Rehab and Nursing Center in Manchester, NH. She was born on October 17, 1934 in New Britain, CT to the late Reider and Beda (Magnuson) Christopherson.
She was raised in Connecticut, and received her Bachelor's Degree in Music from Gordon College in Wenham, MA. She served as organist at West Peabody Congregational Church in Peabody, MA for 26 years. After retirement, she and her husband Donald relocated to Florida where she spent 11 years working for Disney World at the Norway Pavilion. Although she was a fervent New England native, she moved to Nashville, TN to be closer to family before relocating to Manchester, NH.
Scandinavian inspired music was Lillian's passion. She and Donald were long time members of the Sons of Norway. She also loved to knit and travel. She enjoyed summering in Rumney, NH and wintering in Florida and Tennessee.
Lillian was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Johnson and Alice Martin and her dear granddaughter, Tiffany Lane.
She leaves behind her beloved and devoted husband Donald of Norwood, MA; her son William Lane of Glendale, AZ, Mark Lane and his wife Renee of Franklin, TN, and David Lane and his wife Cathy of Concord, NC; daughter Kristine Corey and her husband John of Hopkinton, MA; step daughters Donna, Laura, and Kathryn Pendlebury, all of Norwood, MA, and Margaret Pendlebury of Derry, NH; 14 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
SERVICES: A visitation will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium located at 243 Hanover St, Manchester, on Monday April 2, 2018 at 11 AM, followed by a memorial service at 12 PM. Committal prayers and interment will immediately follow at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery located at 110 Daniel Webster HWY at Boscawen, NH, at 2 PM.
