Linda Bowden

Linda Bowden, 79, of Bedford, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Linda was born on June 20, 1944 in Manchester, New Hampshire to Harold and Rhea (LaRiviere) Stacy where she spent most of her life. She graduated from St. Anselm Nursing School in 1976. Throughout her career as a nurse, her most prideful experience was in the rehab wing of Catholic Medical Center where she worked for 30 years and cherished the life-long friends she met there. She was then the nurse at the Goffstown women’s prison for over 10 years before her retirement.

Linda loved to learn and never stopped learning throughout her life. Decades after earning her nursing degree, she went on to achieve a Master’s in Psychology from Antioch University.

In Linda’s spare time, she enjoyed cross-stitching or crafting, and would indulge in bird-watching with her late husband, John. Every year she looked forward to summer beach days in her favorite place, Ogunquit, Maine with her family. Linda’s friendly and warm heart will be missed by all who knew her.

Linda is survived by her sons, Tom Davis and his wife Sheila of Arizona, and Steve Davis and his wife Gail of Bedford; her grandchildren, Ryan Davis, Cassie Parolisi, and Jessie Davis; and the many circles of friends that she considered family.

She is predeceased by her parents, Harold and Rhea, her first husband Edward Davis, and second husband John Bowden.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 28th from 10am-12pm at The Phaneuf Funeral Home & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home at 12pm. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend.
