Lisa Marie (Jameson) Cheney, 56 of Boscawen NH, passed away peacefully April 17, 2024 at Granite VNA Hospice House with family by her side. Born in Concord, NH on April 20, 1967, Lisa was the daughter of Kathleen (Downing) Jaworski and the late Alan Jameson.
Lisa graduated from Merrimack Valley High School, class of 1985. Her career after high school consisted of a number of administrative jobs. One of Lisa’s jobs was working for the NH Department of Labor. She particularly enjoyed this job, because her grandmother had worked there many years before, and they would often compare notes about working for the Labor Department.
Family and extended family was very important to Lisa. She loved her family and truly enjoyed all the family gatherings. Lisa would always choose spending time with family over other activities. There would always be great food, lots of laughs and plenty of hugs. She loved it all. In addition to the family gatherings, Lisa loved the beach, camping, fishing and the many mother-daughter getaways. She also enjoyed doing crafts, particularly wood burning and making diaper cakes for family and friends.
Lisa always had a heart for those less fortunate. She especially had great love and compassion for the homeless, and would readily share any abundance of food or clothing she had. Frequently she was troubled when she felt the homeless were being treated unfairly, saying “people should not judge a book by its cover.”
She will be missed deeply by family and friends but remembered joyfully.
Lisa is survived by her mother, Kathleen Jaworski of Boscawen, sons Andrew Poirier of Laconia, Kyle Poirier of Bedford, grandchildren Danielle and Dominic Poirier of Laconia, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by her dad Alan Jameson and her step-father Charles “Barley” Jaworski.
