LISA MARIE (HAMMOND) SMITH
LITTLETON, NH Lisa M. Smith, 37, of Birchcroft Drive, beloved wife and mother, passed away surrounded by friends and loved ones on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at the Littleton Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Lisa, originally from Lancaster, NH, was born on December 5, 1968, to Richard and Doris (Oliver) Hammond. A 1988 graduate of White Mountain Regional High School, Lisa went on to receive her Licensed Nursing Certificate in 1993 and her Medical Technology Certificate in 1998 from New Hampshire Technical College. In 2000, she earned her Associates Degree in Nursing from Norwich University in Vermont.
Lisa began her health-care career at Morrison Nursing Home in Lancaster and continued under the guidance of Dr. John Spicer of Littleton. Since 2000, Lisa has been a Registered Nurse at Littleton Regional Hospital where she had a special interest in Hospice care and trauma nursing. Prior to Lisas illness, she accepted an internship for training as a trauma nurse in emergency medicine. The wife of a police officer, Lisa was an ardent supporter of law enforcement and fire services.
Lisa had a passion for collecting antiques and angels, decorating, traveling, reading, fishing, and cooking. She cherished time spent in the company of family and friends and especially treasured spending time with her husband, children, and their pets.
Lisa is survived by family members including her husband, Paul J. Smith; two children, Jessy A. Smith and Madeline L. Smith, all of Littleton, NH; her father, Richard Hammond, and his wife Mary of Lancaster, NH; a step-mother, Cynthia Hammond, also of Lancaster; three brothers: Stephen Hammond of Lancaster, NH, Kevin Hammond of North Branford, CT, and Shawn Hammond and his wife, Jessica of Brattleboro, VT; one stepbrother, Bill Bucklin of Manchester, NH; five step-sisters, Laurie Comings of Lancaster, and Karen White and her husband, Rob, of Germany, Sherry Zambon, Kerry Adams, and Mary Adams; father- and mother-in-law, Richard W. and Louise B. Smith of Littleton; a brother-in-law, Richard W. Smith, Jr. and his wife, Sarah Bunkley; uncles and aunts George and Sharon Camp, and Dennis and Judy Hammond; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her mother, Doris Hammond, predeceased Lisa.
SERVICES The family will receive friends on Monday, July 17th from
6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Pillsbury Funeral Home-Littleton Chapel, 101
Union Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rose of
Lima Church on Tuesday, July 18th at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the St. Rose Cemetery in Littleton.
