Lloyd "Butch" Clayton LaQuire, 86, of Boscawen, New Hampshire, passed away on September 24, 2026, at 1:15 a.m. at Concord Hospital.
Born in Concord, New Hampshire, to Lloyd Joseph and Helen Cora (Whiter) LaQuire, Butch lived a life filled with adventure, hard work, and cherished memories. He proudly served five years in the Army National Guard, receiving an honorable discharge.
A man of many talents, Butch enjoyed working with his hands. From building houses in his younger years to repairing vehicles and working at Watts Regulator until his retirement, he was rarely one to sit idle. Even in retirement, he could always find something to fix, build, or tinker with. He also enjoyed playing his guitar, listening to classic country music, and tending to his peach trees, grapevines, and blueberries, occasionally trying his hand at making homemade wine.
Butch loved traveling and exploring new places, a passion he shared with his beloved wife, Gail, throughout their 46 years of marriage. Following her passing, he continued his adventures, especially enjoying his winters at Craig's RV Park in Arcadia, Florida. There, he became a familiar face in the community, enjoying bocce ball, shuffleboard, horseshoes, morning coffee gatherings, gospel sing-alongs, Friday night dances, and weekend activities. Over the years, he formed many lasting friendships and treasured the memories made along the way.
Butch cherished his family and valued the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him tremendous joy. Known for his strong opinions, fierce independence, and unmistakable personality, he could be stubborn and determined, but was also talented, resourceful, and unforgettable. He lived life on his own terms, leaving behind a lifetime of stories, laughter, and memories.
Butch was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gail Y. (Buker) LaQuire, who passed away on May 10, 2013; his parents, Lloyd Joseph and Helen Cora (Whiter) LaQuire; his sisters, Doreen LaQuire, Burnice LaQuire, and Lucille Bacon; and his brother, Joseph LaQuire.
He is survived by his son, William LaQuire; his grandchildren and their families: Crystal (LaQuire) Raciti, her husband, Nicholas, and their children, Landyn, Jourdan, and Alessa; David Steeves, his wife, Heather, and their children, Ally and Joseph; and Courtney LaQuire and her children, Shawn and Nicholas. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members, including members of his beloved wife Gail's family, who remained a cherished part of his life long after her passing.
A graveside service for Butch will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery in Salisbury, New Hampshire. Military honors will be rendered in recognition of his service in the Army National Guard. Family, friends and anyone who knew him, are welcome to attend.
Though his journey has come to an end, the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
