Lois (Hamer) Holbrook

Lois L. (Hamer) Holbrook, 80, of Manchester, passed away at Catholic Medical Center on September 21, 2011.

She was born in Longmeadow, MA on October 7, 1930, the daughter of Albert and DeEtte Bordon and had been a Manchester resident for most of her life. She had worked at Family Outfitters for many years and loved to make crossword puzzles. She was a hard worker, loved to be around her family and had a great love for animals. Everyone who knew her loved her. She was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Cardona in 2009.

Family members include her husband of 28 years, John Holbrook; two sons, Brian Hamer of Manchester and Mark Hamer of FL; five daughters, Donna Tshanakas of FL, Colleen Hamer of Manchester, Roberta Crawford of AR, Pamela Nadeau of Northwood, and Lisa Miller of Manchester; a step-daughter, Traci King of VA; many grandchildren and several great grandchildren; and nephews, nieces and cousins.

A memorial gathering will take place on Sunday from 2 to 3 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street with a memorial service to follow at 3 PM in the funeral home chapel. To view more information, go to www.phaneuf.net.
