LOIS A. WALKER
WEYMOUTH, MA Lois A. (Harney) Walker, 87, of Franconia, NH, formerly of Rockland, MA, passed away on Tuesday, July 24th.
Lois was born on April 17, 1920, a daughter to Arthur B. and Sophie J. (Sangster) Harney in Boston, MA. She was raised in North Quincy, MA and was a 1938 graduate of North Quincy High School.
Lois was employed at S. Scammell and Sons in Quincy and South Shore Medical Clinic in Norwell, MA, as a bookkeeper. She resided in Rockland, MA prior to relocating to Franconia, NH. She was a devoted wife to the late Charles P. Walker for 55 years.
Lois was a member of the Sugar Hill Community Church and served on the Board of Directors for North Country Home Health Agency for many years. During her lifetime, Lois cared for many of her elderly relatives in her own home. She loved animals.
Surviving family members include one daughter, F. Diane Brand of Monroe, NH; one sister, Florence Hunter of Beaumont, TX, five grandchildren, Daniel A. and his wife, Ruth Walker of Bridgewater, MA, David F. Walker of Weymouth, MA, Mason G. Walker of Rockland, MA, Cassandra Fitch of Keller, TX, Ronson Dunn of Balboa, CA, and four great-grandchildren. Her husband, Charles, predeceased her in 1994 as well as a son, C. Gordon Walker of Rockland, MA. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was loved by all and will be missed dearly.
SERVICES A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 28th at 11:00 a.m. in the Elmwood Cemetery in Franconia, NH, with Rev. Lyn Winter officiating. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 3rd at the Community Baptist Church, 17 Multon Lane, East Weymouth, MA.
Donations may be made in her memory to a charity of ones choice.
