Lorette F. (Poirier) Petriw, 95, of Manchester, passed away at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack on May 31, 2024.
She was born in Manchester on August 26, 1928, the daughter of the late Hormidas and Fabiola (Ducharme) Poirier. She had worked in the operations department at Bank of New Hampshire for thirteen years. A devote catholic, she was a long-time parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church, belonged to the Ladies Guild and she also volunteered her time in the Adoration Chapel. She was an avid seamstress, enjoyed crocheting afghans for family members, was very hands on when any work needed to be done. She was an animal lover, enjoyed travelling with family and attending sporting events for grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the widow of Walter Petriw who died in 1997.
Family members include two daughters, Eileen Benoit of Manchester and Joyce Savageau and her husband Joseph of Hooksett; five grandchildren, Daniel (Kathy), Tracy, Chris (Holly), Jeff, and Jason (Eileen); twelve great grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. She is survived by her sister Gertrude Lemay. She was predeceased by her sisters Claire Lavoie, Georgette Huard, Lucille Austin, Simone Auger and her brother Henry Poirier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 5th at 10:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church. Private burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice House at www.hhhc.org/home-care-services/hospice/community-hospice-house/.
