Lorraine S. Browne

Lorraine S. Browne, 94, of Manchester, NH, passed away on July 20, 2022. She was born in Harlem, NY on February 15, 1928, a daughter of the late William and Esther (Dennison) Harris. She shared 75 years of marriage with her husband, Alfred K. Browne.

Lorraine spent her younger years in Harlem and Queens. At 18, she married her childhood sweetheart, Alfred, and together they moved to Long Island, where they raised their family. They later relocated to Derry, New Hampshire in 1981. She attended secretarial school and worked as a key punch operator at several banks, including Franklin National Bank, Edwards and Handley, and European American Bank (EAB), all on Long Island, New York. She was devoted to her faith in the Pentecostal Church and enjoyed spending time with her friends in her prayer group. In her spare time, she loved taking part in one of her favorite hobbies: shopping. Above all else, Lorraine was a loving wife, mother, and Grammy who cherished time spent with her family, especially during family gatherings where her family would enjoy the amazing meals she cooked. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a kind and outgoing person who loved to socialize.

Lorraine is survived by her husband, Alfred Browne; her children, Ronnie Browne and his wife Alma, Gerald Browne and his wife Debbie, Cheryl Browne, Saundra Norris and her husband Albert, and Wayne Browne and his wife Lilly; her grandchildren, Daryl, Nicola, Jsemal, Sean, Yolanda, Quincy, JaRod, Wayne, Noah, Lance, Aliyah, Monique and Evan; as well as numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Lorraine was also predeceased by her brothers Jack and Billy Harris; her brother in law, Eugene Browne and his wife Eleanor, her brother in law, Joseph Marquez, and her daughter in law, Pat Browne.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 10:00AM at Evergreen Cemetery on Buck Street in Pembroke, NH.
