Lorraine J. Craven

June 17, 1927 — October 25, 2024

Concord, NH

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorraine “Lovey” J. Craven, age 97, who departed this life on October 25, 2024, at John H. Whitaker Place, Penacook, NH her loving home for the past two years.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, to Marcel and Alice LaVigueur, Lorraine was a vibrant spirit whose creativity and compassion touched many lives. Throughout her life, she held a variety of meaningful roles, including Cub Scout leader, floral designer, waitress at the Groton Inn, house manager for the headmaster of Groton School, activities director at a senior center in Florida, and fabric and crafts associate at a retail store. She had a passion for sewing, knitting, coloring, sketching, gardening, reading, and watching her birds. Her favorite place was Moody Beach, Maine, where she loved to put her face up to the sun and soak in the warmth. Music was a big part of her life, and she loved to sing, but her greatest joy came from her family.

Lorraine is predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph E. Craven, her son, Roy L. Jeannotte, her daughter-in-law, Ann Marie Jeannotte and her great-grandson Ronan L. Jeannotte. She is survived by her son, Robert A. Jeannotte (Cindy), and her daughters, Ellen L. Kleeman (Frank), Susan J. Allen (Ted), and Kathy A. Curry (Dan). Nana will be lovingly remembered by her nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. She was so proud of them all. Anyone attending one of her son’s or grandson’s football games could hear her ringing her cowbell for every touchdown. At her granddaughter's field hockey games, they affectionately referred to it as the "Nana bell."

She was love. Her warmth and kindness will forever be etched in our hearts. We will always love you a bushel and a peck, Ma/Nana!

A “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to The Ronan Fund which  “Supports dreams that follow a different path.”

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
