With profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Lorraine Dubreuil, 100, of Manchester, New Hampshire, announces her peaceful passing on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Lorraine passed away peacefully just four days before celebrating her 101st birthday.

Born on June 15, 1925, to John Baptist Paquette and Roseanne (Hebert) Paquette, Lorraine grew up in Goffstown, New Hampshire, where she attended local schools. Coming of age during the Great Depression, she learned early lessons in resilience, perseverance, sacrifice, and hard work. Those challenging years helped shape the woman she would become and instilled values that remained with her throughout her life. She lived a life defined by love, strength, determination, and an unwavering devotion to her family.

Above all else, Lorraine was the heart and matriarch of her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family always came first. Nothing made her happier than seeing her children and grandchildren happy and successful, and she was always there with encouragement, sage advice, and a healthy dose of perspective. If she thought you needed a little guidance, she was never shy about offering that as well.

Following World War II, she met the love of her life, Romeo, and together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and commitment. While the demands of raising a large family were never easy, Lorraine embraced motherhood and found great joy in caring for those she loved. She also enjoyed reading and rarely missed an opportunity to attend family gatherings and celebrations. In retirement, Lorraine and her beloved husband, Romeo, embarked on adventures throughout the East Coast in their RV, especially enjoying time spent camping by the ocean. Through every season of life, her family remained her greatest joy and guiding purpose.

Those who knew Lorraine will remember her as a remarkably resilient woman with an incredibly sharp mind and extraordinary mental toughness. The perseverance she developed during the hardships of the Great Depression stayed with her throughout her life and became one of her defining qualities. She taught her children the importance of hard work, perseverance, independence, and taking responsibility for themselves. Those lessons became part of who they are and remain among her greatest gifts and enduring legacy. Her strength was not measured by what she overcame for herself, but by the foundation she built for the generations that followed.

Lorraine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Romeo Dubreuil Sr.; her daughter, Pauline (Dubreuil) Peloquin; her brother, Lorenzo Paquette; and her sisters, Eva Paquette and Blanche Paquette.

She will be dearly missed by her children: Diane (Dubreuil) Douglas and her husband, Michael Douglas, of Auburn, New Hampshire; Romeo Dubreuil Jr. of Warner, New Hampshire, and his former spouse, Judy Green, who remained an important part of Lorraine's family; Linda (Dubreuil) Paul and her husband, Theodore Paul, of Orange, Massachusetts; Doris (Dubreuil) Van Dusen and her husband, Kevin Van Dusen, of Bow, New Hampshire; Alfred Dubreuil and his fiancée, Tammy Mailhot, of Londonderry, New Hampshire; and Brian Dubreuil and his wife, Krisha Dubreuil, of Manchester, New Hampshire.

She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Jody, John, Stephanie, Michael Jr., Holly, Amy, Lindsay, Aliza, Eric, Nathan, Rebecca, Amanda, Julie, Matthew, and Andrew; as well as 24 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense pride and joy to her life.

Lorraine's family finds comfort in knowing that she remained strong, determined, and fiercely independent until the very end, living a remarkable century of life on her own terms. Her life spanned the Great Depression, World War II, and more than a century of extraordinary change, yet the values she held most dear - faith, family, hard work, and perseverance never wavered.

The family wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude to the entire Elliot VNA Hospice care team for their exceptional care, compassion, and support during Lorraine's final journey.

A private interment will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Manchester for family and close friends.
