Lorraine "Lorrie" Foster Dobson a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, died November 5, 2014.
She was born on February 24, 1933 in Manchester, CT to Mary "Helena" Welles Foster and William Foster.
Lorrie's lifelong love of music led her to her studies at the New England Conservatory of Music from which she graduated in 1955 with a Bachelor's in Music Education.
For many summers she was part of performances of Gilbert & Sullivan. She was a pianist first and then graduated to orchestra conductor, she later became the Music Director.
Lorrie was also an active church member to several church families including the First Congregational Church in Vernon, CT where she held the positions of junior choir and handbell choir director for over nineteen years.
Her resume also includes teacher, choir member and conductor, organist, pianist, private music instructor, orchestra conductor, and music director.
Lorrie is pre-deceased by her brother Bill and his wife Joyce Foster. She is survived by her brother Irv and his wife Mona Foster; her four daughters; Charlotte and her husband John Comeau of So. Acworth, NH; Rebecca and her husband Patrick Finegan of Columbia, SC; Debra and her husband Mark Gridley of Newton, NH; Rachel and her husband Alec Cobban of Derry, NH; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 11th at 12pm, at Wapping Community Church, 1790 Ellington Rd, South Windsor, CT. Graveside service immediately following.
