Lorraine "Lori" Plichta

Lorraine (Lori) A. (Gelinas) Plichta, 86, of Manchester, NH passed away May 31, 2021 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH after a period of declining health.

She was born in Manchester, NH on January 23, 1935, the daughter of Walden and Gabrielle (Fournier) Gelinas.
In addition to her parents, Lori was predeceased by her brother Charles Gelinas.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Richard T. Plichta, Sr., and her 9 children; Barbara (Plichta) Viorritto and her husband, Tony, of Snellville, GA, Gerianne Plichta of Warner Robins, GA, Jennifer (Plichta) Nagele and her husband Brent, of Manchester, NH, Richard T. Plichta, Jr. and his wife Penny, of Manchester, NH, Charlene (Plichta) Belanger of Manchester, NH, Theodore Plichta and his wife Carol (Belanger) of Bellevue, NE, Catherine (Plichta) Upham of Manchester, NH, Daniel Plichta and his wife Michele of Franklin, NH, and Christina (Plichta) Lamper of Manchester, NH. She had 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Lori was a veteran of the US Navy, a devoted wife and mother of 9 children. She was a Girl Scout Leader and supported her sons in Boy Scouts. She was a Little League mom and school crossing guard. She was an experienced dressmaker and bridal shop (L'Originales) owner. Lori loved buttons and was an avid button collector. She was a member of the Amherst and Amoskeag Button Clubs and a lifetime member and judge of the National Button Society (NBS), and a lifetime member, judge, and president of the Northeast Regional Button Association (NERBA).

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 8th at 10am at Sacred Heart Church, 265 S Main Street in Manchester. Interment to follow in the NH Veteran's Cemetery, Boscawen. Masks are kindly required and social distancing measures will be in place.
