Lorraine M. Shopiak, 76, of Manchester died suddenly at home on May 28, 2007. Lorraine was born on December 13, 1930 in Manchester the daughter of Leodore and Gabrielle (Noury) Goudreau. Following her high school graduation from the Villa Augustina, Lorraine moved to Europe with her family where they lived for several years. In 1958 she married John Shopiak and the couple shared 49 wonderful years together. She worked as the office manager for his business, City Window Cleaning Company while raising her family. She later became the owner of New England Escort Service where she not only ran the company but drove pilot cars, accompanying large vehicle loads cross country. During her 25 years of business she became fondly known by other CB handlers as, Mother Hen. She was an avid collector of coffee mugs, which she had acquired from across the country as well as abroad. Lorraine was a member of numerous Bingo associations and had volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club where she shared her fondness for the game. She was outgoing, had a friendly personality, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Lorraine was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and great grandmother. Family members include; four daughters, Judy Ann Roby of Concord, Elaine Cooper of Concord, Lisha Boucher of Barrington and Rosan Boucher of Manchester; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and one sister, Jeanne Amadon of Florida. IN HER LIFE: She leaves behind a special aunt, Gertrude Vallee, a close cousin, Theresa Frye as well as best friend, Doris Bellerine. Calling hours will be Friday from 1:00 until 3:00 and 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street. A funeral service will be celebrated Saturday at 2:00 in the funeral home chapel.
