Louis J. Pratt, 85, of Manchester, died June 3, 2007 at Villa Crest Nursing Home. He was born in Manchester on April 27, 1922, the son of Louis and Margaret (Egan) Pratt and had been a lifelong resident of the area. He attended local schools and was a graduate of West High School. After that he served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked at Waumbec Mills for many years and later in life worked in sales for various companies. He was a member of the D.A.V. In His Life: Family members include his former wife, Olive (Thurston) Pratt of Manchester; two daughters, Ruth Demers and Sheila Gagne, both of Manchester; four grandchildren, Charles Demers of NC, Christopher Gagne of TX, Cathleen DeArville of Manchester and Jennifer Bobolia of MA; three great grandchildren; a brother, Harold Pratt of Manchester; two sisters, Mary Manning of Manchester and Lillian Anderson of MA; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:30 PM with funeral services to follow at 6:30 PM in the funeral home chapel. Committal services with military honors will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery on Thursday morning at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
