Louise L. Champagne, 95, of Manchester died June 11, 2004 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown following a period of declining health. Mrs. Champagne was born of April 5, 1909 in Lowell, MA the daughter of the late Edward and Odie (Perry)La France. She worked as a fancy stitcher in the shoe industry for many years and retired in the early 1970s. At a young age, Louise began playing the piano for family and friends; it was her one true passion. She later went on to play the piano for mistral shows and for silent movies. Mrs. Champagne was a proud and loving homemaker. She was a parishioner of St. Augustin Church and a former Child of Mary. Family members include; one son, Edward Champagne of Memphis, TN; two daughters, Ms. Odie Champagne and Eleanor Harriger both of Epsom; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Rev. Valerian La France, Dominican Father, of Washington, DC and William La France of Spokane, WA; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Robie and Mrs. Alice Kelley both of Manchester; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Champagne was the widow of Peter Champagne who died in 2002. She was also predeceased by four brothers and two sisters. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 16th at 10:00 AM at St. Augustin Church with burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
