Louise M. (Silva) Weatherbee, 70, formerly of Prospect Street, died at Maple Leaf Health Care Center on January 27, 2004, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Manchester on November 29, 1932, the daughter of Manuel and Adeline (Abren) Silva and had been a lifelong resident of the City. She attended Manchester schools. She was the widow of William Weatherbee who died in 1991 and was also predeceased by a son, William Paul Weatherbee who died in 2002. Family members include her daughter, Donna Gola of Manchester; two grandchildren; two brothers, Anthony Silva of Merrimack and Edward Silva of Manchester; two sisters, Adeline Dolloff of Manchester and Constance Duke of Beverly, MA; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. In Her Life: She had a passion for politics and in the 1970's, she was a member of "Model Cities" working with Chris Spiro. She was active in the Maple Leaf Health Care Center committees and held the title of Vice President of the Maple Leaf Resident Council. To all who know her, she will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor. She was also very proud of her two grandchildren; Angie Blake of Lovell, ME and Joshua P. Weatherbee of Charlottesville, VA. A committal service will take place on Friday afternoon at 1:00 in the chapel of St. Joseph Cemetery on Donald Street in Bedford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maple Leaf Resident Council Fund, Maple Leaf Health Care Center, 198 Pearl Street, Manchester, NH 03104.
