Lucienne A. Martel, 70, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Elliot Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a long period of declining health.
Born April 8, 1947, daughter to the late Lucien and Lillian (Desharnais) Boulanger, Lucienne was a lifelong resident of the Manchester area. She enjoyed 50 years of marriage with her husband, Roland Martel.
Lucienne was devoted to helping children and often donated to children's charities and collected toys to give to sick children in hospitals. She also enjoyed arts and crafts. When she was younger, Lucienne enjoyed her work at both Belmont Hall and Bickford's restaurants.
Lucienne leaves behind her husband, Roland Martel of Litchfield; her sons, Thomas Martel of Manchester and Steven Martel and his wife Michelle of Derry; her brothers Richard, Alfred, Paul and Henry Boulanger; her sisters, Pauline Gouda, Louise Martel and Denise Sanfason; her grandsons, Joshua and Joseph Martel, Jonathan Massie and James LaFond. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Lucille Poisson, Diane Normand, and Lorraine Boulanger.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lucienne's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
