Lucille A. (Poirier) Austin, 84, of Manchester, passed away at her residence on October 19, 2009. She was born in Amesbury, MA on May 20, 1925, the daughter of Hormidas and Fabiola (Ducharme) Poirier and was a Manchester resident for most of her life. Lucille went to Holy Angels Girls School and St George Girls High School in Manchester and attended Presentation of Mary Convent in Acton Vale in the Province of Quebec. She worked at Amoskeag Fabrics as a winding payroll clerk before marrying Roger Thomas Austin of Manchester and then was a homemaker. She was a member of St Anne Sodality and den mother for the cub scouts. She was a member of the Parish of the Transfiguration. She loved to cook and always had a meal waiting for anyone who came to visit. In Her Life: Family members include her husband of 62 years Roger Austin; three daughters, Elaine Evelyn Smith and her husband Edward of Goffstown, Gail Marie Newell and her husband Mark of Bedford, and Evelyn Delia Bushey and her husband Edward of New Boston; two sons, Thomas William Austin and his wife Bonnie of Bedford, William Roger Austin and his wife Patti of Goffstown; fourteen grandchildren, Karen, Julie, Brian, Milissa, Kristen, Adam, Stephen, Jaime, Brett, William, Patrick, Amanda, Stacey and Katie, and fifteen great children Jasen, Julien, Cole, Gabriel, Theodore, Eliza, Hannah, Madison, Jack, Ava, Austin, Jordan, John, Lauren, and Raya; four sisters, Claire Loiselle of Concord, Simone Auger and her husband Henri of Bedford, Lorette Petriw of Manchester, and Gertrude Lemay and her husband Romeo of Modesto, California; one brother, Henri W. Poirier of Manchester, and many nephews, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Georgette Huard. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Ave on Friday from 4 to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10:00 in the Parish of the Transfiguration. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
