Lucille M. Bendickson

Lucille “Chris” M. Bendickson, 86, of Merrimack, NH died March 21, 2007 at Hillsborough Country Nursing Home as a result of Alzheimer’s. Mrs. Bendickson was born on January 13, 1921 in Saginaw, Michigan the daughter of Nels and Martha (Christenson) Christensen. She grew up in Michigan and Minnesota and spent most of her adult life in Iowa. As a registered nurse, she was Director of Nursing Services at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Later she became the Director of Planned Parenthood for Washington County, Iowa. Upon retirement, she and her husband, the late Newell D. Bendickson, moved to Arizona. The couple spent twenty years in Casa Grande, Arizona and together enjoyed playing golf and bridge. She was highly involved in the community of Casa Verde Estates and served in a variety of capacities. Mrs. Bendickson was a founding member of Arizona City’s Central Lutheran Church. Along with her love for nursing and community service, she enjoyed travel, arts and crafts and spending time with her family. Family members include; two daughters, Kate and her husband, Dave Grussendorf of Belen, New Mexico and Jan and her husband, Ray Raudonis of Merrimack, NH; three granddaughters; 6 great grandchildren; and two great great granddaughters; three sisters, Margarette Pyle, Geraldine Jarecki, and Leona Frances. She was predeceased by a sister, Sylvia Jarecki Private burial will take place at a later date in Arizona.
