Lucille C. (Chartrain) Morin, 88, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2018, at home surrounded by her loving family. Lucille was born in Manchester, NH on September 13, 1929, the daughter of Edgar and Octavie (Laberge) Chartrain.
Lucille was educated in The Manchester School system where she met the love of her life Raymond J. Morin, whom she married on October 12, 1950. Lucille attended The Manchester Institute of Arts and Science where she achieved her passion for sewing and decoration studying under Mrs. Jackie Rousseau.
In 1952, Lucille and Raymond left Manchester to relocate to California while Raymond served during The Korean War. While in California, Lucille worked at several sewing enterprises. In 1953, Lucille and Raymond relocated to Tacoma, Washington and continued to follow her sewing passion where she met several lifelong friends. In 1954, Lucille and Raymond returned to Manchester, NH, where she worked for Laible Electronics until her and her husband started a family. In 1962, Lucille and Raymond had their first child William, followed by her their daughter Elise in 1964. Lucille and Raymond relocated to Bangor, ME and subsequently to Yarmouth, where she worked with the late Mrs. Lois Sylvester creating window treatments for The Custom Shop.
Her love of family and friends was unboundless as well as her love for travel. During her life she visited such places as Eastern and Western Europe, Australia, Hawaii, Alaska, Brazil, The Caribbean and Canada. One of her favorite trips was visiting St. Petersburg and a cruise down The Volga to Moscow. During their retirement Lucille and Ray have spent the last 20 winters in Florida at The Breezy Hill RV Park.
She was a member of The Richelieu Club of Biddeford, ME and throughout her life Lucille kept her love for sewing, floral gardening, playing cards with her friends and making sure there was plenty of activity on her Macy's card.
Lucille is survived by her husband of 67 years, Raymond J. Morin; her son, William Edgar Morin; daughter, Elise Marie Morin and her fiancé Jeffery S. McCourt; several nieces, nephews and god children, Denise (Poisson) Paradise, Mona (Blanchette) Breitrick and Anthony Jelic. In addition to her parents, Lucille was predeceased by her brothers, Lafayette and Maurice of Manchester, NH, Armand of Simi Valley, CA, Lionel and Adrien of Manchester, NH; her sister, Therese (Chartrain) Poisson of Manchester, NH.
Friends may call Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. at Lindquist Funeral Home 1 Mayberry Lane Yarmouth, ME. In addition, there will be calling hours at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Ave, Manchester, NH on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10:00 in Ste. Marie Church, Manchester. Committal services will follow in the mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
