Lucille F. (Kane) Stevens, 79, of Manchester died August 12, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on November 29, 1931 in Marlborough, MA the daughter of Francis J. and Mildred (McGrath) Kane.
She started her career as a journalist in the newspaper business prior to moving to New Hampshire. After raising a family, she worked as a bookkeeper in the automotive industry until her retirement.
Lucille enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading, and politics. She belonged to the Federation of Republican Women, the St. Pius X Womens Guild, the Concerned Taxpayers Association, and a former member of the Junior Womens Club. She and her husband were fortunate to have traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe.
Survivors include her son David D. Stevens and his wife Charla, of Bedford, NH; 3 daughters, Cynthia Sullivan and her husband Mark of Weare, NH, Linda Stevens of Cape Coral, FL and Kathleen Myers and her husband Roland of Buxton, ME; her grandchildren, Abigail and Bridget Sullivan, Samantha and Bradley Myers, and Christine Labbe. She is also survived by her half siblings, Francis Kane, John Kane, Sandra Kane and Susan Scott all of MA and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Donald Stevens who died in August 26, 2005 and her siblings, Millicent Morin, Alden Kane and Roger Kane.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, Candia Road, Manchester on Tuesday, August 16th at 11:00 AM. Private interment will be at the NH State Veterans Cemetery.
