M. Karen Poza, 74, formerly of Manchester and currently of Pipe Creek, TX passed away in Pipe Creek on September 13, 2019 as a result of injuries sustained from an automobile accident.
She was born in Cincinnati, OH on August 7, 1945, the daughter of Thomas P. and Margaret (Schulz) Connors. In her married life, she lived in Torrance and San Diego, CA; Bedford, NH; Darnestown, MD. Karen authored two books, was a school teacher, and involved in youth ministry. She was passionate about her Catholic faith and was an active parishioner of Ste. Marie Parish. She loved spending time with her grandkids, traveling the world with her best friend, Hugo and promoting life issues. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and promoting health products. She was a woman of love and faith.
Family members include her husband of 52 years, Hugo Poza; two sons, Hugh Poza and his wife Elizabeth of Bedford, and Sean Poza and his wife Marie of Lewisville, TX; a daughter, Vanessa Mosher and her husband David of Newtown, CT; eleven grandchildren; Faith, Grace, Kolbe, Hope, Ephrem, Joy, Amanda, Aiden, Shay, Brogan, and Siena; two brothers, Tom Connors of MN, and Kevin Connors of CA; four sisters, Tina Nelson of CA, Sheila Connors of WI, Cecelia Connors of OR, and Patricia Connors of Tokyo, Japan; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Kala Marie.
Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St. Manchester on Sunday from 4 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 10:00 AM in Ste. Marie Parish. Graveside committal services will follow in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
