MADELENE C. HADLEY
LISBON, NH -- Madelene C. Hadley, 88, of Lisbon, died May 10, 2008 at the Grafton County Nursing Home in North Haverhill after a period of failing health.
She was born in Marlborough, MA on August 13, 1919 the daughter of Orlando and Lillian (Hoffman) Hills. During WWII she was an airplane mechanic as a Wave in Corpus Cristi, Texas. In 1951 she married William Hadley. They bought a farm in Lisbon, NH in 1954. There she was a member of the Grange, The United Methodist Women, the Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic, and the Shared Ministry. She was an avid reader who enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening and cooking.
Surviving family members include a sister, Sylvia Thompson of Nashua, NH; a brother, Paul Hills of Hudson, NH; a brother, James Hills and his wife, Ellen of Solon, ME; a son, W. Frank Hadley Jr. of Littleton, NH; a daughter, Martha Ruffle and her husband Peter and their son Michael.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Hadley and her sister, Marjorie Packard.
SERVICES Funeral services are planned for Friday, May 16th at 11:00 a.m. at the Landaff Methodist Church with Rev. Lyn Winter officiating.
