Madeleine Y. (Paquet) Charest, 84, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at St. Teresa Manor surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Biddeford, ME, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Sr. and Marie (Gendron) Paquet. Raised and educated in Maine, she married the love of her life, the late Maurice Charest and started a family. After raising her family, Madeleine had been employed by the VA Hospital for seven years prior to retirement.
A selfless and generous soul, Madeleine loved to hug her family and friends and always prayed for them, in the good times and the bad. She cherished time spent with her family and enjoyed reminiscing about her childhood in Maine. In her younger years, Madeleine enjoyed gardening and driving the back roads of the countryside, getting lost on purpose to appreciate the scenery. Madeleine found great comfort in the companionship of dogs and cats. A proud mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Madeleine bragged constantly about the accomplishments of her family, especially her grandson Tony who honorably serves his country as a member of the U.S. Navy. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Madeleine is survived by her daughter, Gabrielle Gregoire and husband Larry; her granddaughter, Tabitha Gregoire; her grandson, Tony Gregoire and wife Ileana; her two great granddaughters, Eviana and Alexia; her brother, Ernest Paquet Jr.; her two sisters, Therese Chabot and Monica Thibeau; and extended family and friends. In addition to her husband Maurice, Madeleine was predeceased by her sisters, Ann Marie, Genevieve, Martha, and Denise.
