Madeline M. Crewe, 85, formerly of 644 Green Street, died January 13, 2001, at Harborside Northwood Health Care, Bedford. She was born in Andover, NH, on May 31, 1915, the daughter of Dallas and Rose (Keniston) Calley and had been a resident of Manchester since 1966. She was the widow of John Frank Crewe who died in 1978. Mrs. Crewe worked 23 years as a saleslady for Jordan Marsh and prior to that she worked more than five years for Solomon Store. She was a member of Brookside Congregational Church, the Rebecca Lodge in Franklin and volunteer with several church committees. Family members include two daughters, Rose Marie Volkman of Goffstown and Gwendolyn Purcell of Manchester, six grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, a brother Eugene Calley of Franklin, NH, a sister Marjorie Miller of Andover, NH, and a half sister Sally Lucas of Austin, Texas, several nieces and nephews.
