Madeline M. Desjardins

Madeline Marie Desjardins, 85, of Manchester, passed away at Hillsborough County Nursing Home on August 14, 2022. Madeline was always known to be the life of the party and had a wonderful sense of humor. Born in Manchester on July 30, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Albertine (Malo) Martineau. She was the wife of the late Gerard Desjardins.

Madeline was a lifelong resident of Manchester and spent many years working in the shoe factories in the Manchester mills, including employment at Pandora and Gutman-Kesslen Shoes. She found great comfort in her Catholic faith. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo and listening to country music.

Madeline is survived by her daughters, Kelly Darwell, Brenda Cote and Denise Reel; her sons, Jerry Desjardins and Shawn Desjardins; her brother, Peter Martineau; her sister, Alice McMaster; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her companion, Donald Lambert; and her beloved cat, Mittens. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by several of her siblings.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Madeline’s life on Wednesday, August 24^th from 4-6pm at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester.
