Madeline Virginia Stitham Ford, 94, was born July 2, 1923 in Manchester, NH to Stanley and Lillian Wilson Stitham and went home to be with her Lord on Jan 29, 2018 at the home of her daughter, Ruth, in South Windsor, CT. She was educated in Manchester, NH schools and graduated from Central High in 1941. She met her future husband while he was stationed at Grenier Field. She also attended the Baptist Institute in Philadelphia, PA. She married Howard Black Ford Jr. on June 11, 1950 in Ellettsville, Indiana. They ministered with churches in Hudson, NH; Deer Island, New Brunswick; Green Point, New York City and West Rupert, VT. She worked with Hoodcroft Nursing Home while living in Derry, NH and was a Senior Companion for 17 years while living at BriarPipe in Penacook.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1978, her brother, Harold Stitham in 2006 and a niece Debbie Malonson in 2018. She is survived by William Ford, her son of Chelsea, VT; her daughters Karen (Tim) Eade of Center Barnstead, NH, Joyce (Charles) Harris of Merrimack, NH, and Ruth Ford of South Windsor, CT; grandson, Christopher Harris and great-grandson, Jordan, both of Merrimack, NH; and Stitham nieces Sarah and Melinda of Portland, ME.
We'll miss you mom, but we won't say goodbye.
She will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery on Brown Avenue in Manchester, NH on February 5 at 11:00 am. Brian Gower will preside.
