Maitland Wiest, 92, of 30 Eagle Drive, Bedford, NH, died April 26, 2004, at the Elliot Hospital. He was born in White Plains, New York on May 4, 1911, the son of Frank Rich and Mary (Bowler) Wiest and lived most of his life in New Windsor, New York before moving to Bedford, NH, five years ago. He was a W.W. II Army Veteran, working with aircraft. Mr. Wiest worked 37 years for Coke Cola Bottling Company of Newburgh, New York. He was the beloved widower of Hilda Frances (Conn) Wiest who died in 1988. IN HIS LIFE his extraordinary oil paintings will be treasured by his family. Mr. Wiest was loved, adored and admired by all. Maitland Wiest was a Gentlemans Gentleman. Family members include his daughter, Linda Wiest of Bedford, NH, with whom he resided with, several nieces and nephews of New York. SERVICES: Relatives and friends may call at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, on Wednesday afternoon at 1 Oclock with the services immediately following in the funeral home chapel at 2 Oclock. Services will also be held for Mr. Wiest at the D. Donato-Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY on Thursday afternoon at 1 OClock with the service immediately following in the funeral home at 2 Oclock. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburg, NY.
