Manekshaw Variava

Manekshaw Variava, 76, of 75 West Hancock Street, died September 21, 2000 at Catholic Medical Center. He was born on April 10, 1924 in Kathor, India and had been a Manchester resident since 1996. He had been a self-employed farmer. He was the widower of Nargis Variava who died in 1969. Family members include three sons, Bomi Variava of India, Aspi Variava of Manchester and Percy Variava of India; a daughter, Parvin Kapadia of India; 7 grandchildren, a brother, Dhun Variana of London, England; and several nephews and nieces. A calling hour will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., on Saturday afternoon from 2 to 3 PM. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home Chapel.
